PlayStation 5 Update Brings Back Classic UI Options
The PlayStation 5 is set to receive a software update that will reintroduce the nostalgic looks of previous console generations. Following the positive response to the introduction of classic themes on the console’s home screen during the PlayStation 30th anniversary celebration last year, the company has announced that it is making these retro UI looks a permanent fixture. As promised, the return of these four classic visual options is a key feature of the upcoming PS5 software update.
Although the startup audio chimes that accompanied each generation will not be making a comeback, players will be able to change the visual appearance of their console at will, accessing the options under the Appearance tab in the Settings menu.
Another significant component of the update is the introduction of Audio Focus, a feature designed to enhance immersion during gameplay when using headphones or headsets. This feature offers customizable presets that allow players to boost specific audio elements, such as voice, low-pitch sounds, high-pitch sounds, or quiet sounds. Additionally, players can adjust the level of amplification to weak, medium, or strong.
The PS5 update is scheduled to begin its global rollout on April 24, bringing these exciting new features to players worldwide.
