Now that the flurry of Star Wars news has begun to subside following Star Wars Celebration Japan last weekend, a new development has emerged: Lost writer Carlton Cuse is reportedly collaborating with his son, Nick Cuse, on a new Star Wars series.
This update comes courtesy of the Insneider, with Variety providing further insight. If the series moves forward, Cuse would be joining the ranks of another Lost alum, J.J. Abrams, who has also ventured into the Star Wars universe. (Notably, a third Lost alum, Damon Lindelof, had a less-than-stellar experience with Star Wars.)
At present, details about the show are scarce, with no information available on the characters, setting within the Star Wars timeline, or casting.
If the project comes to fruition, it would mark the first professional collaboration between the father-son duo. Carlton Cuse has an extensive background, having worked on Lost, Bates Motel, The Strain, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke & Key, and Pulse. Nick Cuse, on the other hand, has credits including The Leftovers, Watchmen, and Station Eleven.
Given their collective experience in the genre, it will be interesting to see if this project takes off. What are your thoughts on this news, and which era of Star Wars do you hope the Cuse team will explore?
