Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Announced with New Studios and Sequels
Following a global tour for its second volume of international animation, Star Wars: Visions is set to return to Japan for another installment of anime-centric adventures. Fittingly, Lucasfilm has unveiled the first teaser for Visions Volume 3 at Star Wars Celebration Japan in Tokyo.
The latest volume will feature stories created by nine Japanese animation studios, each offering their unique perspective on the galaxy far, far away. This will include some returning stories, building on episodes from the first volume. Although the trailer has not been fully released online, it was shared with fans via the official Star Wars Celebration livestream.
New studios joining the anthology include David Production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Spy x Family), Polygon Pictures (Transformers Prime, Tron: Uprising), and Project Studio Q, a CG house born from Evangelion and Gundam studio Khara.
Star Wars Visions Presents: A New Extended Format Spin-Off
A new extended format spin-off series, Star Wars Visions Presents, was announced at the panel. This series will revisit prior stories and worlds from Visions and expand upon them in a longer format. The first installment, Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi, will be directed by Production I.G.’s Kenji Kamiyama and will feature an all-new story with the short’s protagonist Kara.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 will premiere on Disney+ on October 29, while Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi is set to stream in 2026.
