The company expressed its appreciation for users’ patience and understanding in a post on X around 2 p.m. Pacific, stating, "Service has now been restored after the earlier outage, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding."

Outage Details

The issues began at approximately 11:40 a.m., as reported by The Verge, citing data from Cisco’s ThousandEyes platform. Users took to social media to report difficulties logging in and receiving an "Unable to Connect" error message when attempting to join meetings. Additionally, Zoom’s website and media inquiry inbox were also inaccessible.

User Reports

By noon, over 59,000 users had reported issues on the outage-tracking site DownDetector.com, indicating a widespread problem.

Cause of Outage

The cause of the outage is currently unclear. Speculation by The Verge suggests it may have been related to DNS issues, referencing a Reddit thread. When contacted for comment, a Zoom spokesperson directed TechCrunch to the aforementioned X post for further information.
