Grok, the chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, has introduced a new feature called Grok Studio, which enables users to edit and create documents and basic apps in a canvas-like environment.
The introduction of Grok Studio was announced on X late Tuesday, and it is accessible to both free and paid Grok users on the Grok.com platform.
According to the official Grok account on X, “Grok can now generate documents, code, reports, and browser games.” Furthermore, Grok Studio allows for collaborative content creation by opening the content in a separate window, enabling both the user and Grok to work together.
Today, we are releasing the first version of Grok studio, adding code execution and Google Drive support.

Grok is not the only chatbot to have a dedicated workspace for software and writing projects. OpenAI has also launched a similar feature called Canvas for ChatGPT in October, while Anthropic introduced Artifacts for Claude earlier.
The functionality of Grok Studio appears to be similar to other canvas-like tools that have been released. It allows users to preview HTML snippets and execute code in languages such as Python, C++, and JavaScript, with all content opening in a window to the right-hand side of Grok’s responses.
Another significant upgrade announced for Grok is its integration with Google Drive. This feature enables users to attach files from their Google Drive account to a Grok prompt, allowing Grok to work with documents, spreadsheets, and slides, as stated by xAI.
