According to recent reports, Samsung’s ISOCELL camera sensors are expected to be featured in Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 series, which is slated for release later this year.

Google has historically relied on Samsung for various components in its Pixel smartphones, including display panels, camera sensors, and modems, for several years. As the company prepares to launch the Pixel 10 series, it appears that ISOCELL camera sensors will continue to be a key component. The Pixel 10 series is expected to utilize these sensors, although it will reportedly deviate from Samsung’s modem and chipset manufacturing.

A recent report from Android Authority suggests that Google plans to opt out of using Samsung’s modem and chipset manufacturing for the Pixel 10 series. However, the company will continue to utilize ISOCELL camera sensors in its upcoming flagship devices.

The report further reveals that Google is upgrading the camera setup on the Pixel 10, transitioning from a dual-camera setup to a triple-camera setup. The forthcoming Pixel 10 will reportedly feature three Samsung ISOCELL sensors, including:

• A 50MP ISOCELL GN8 primary rear camera
• A 11MP ISOCELL 3J1 telephoto camera
• A 11MP ISOCELL 3J1 front-facing camera

Notably, Google is introducing a dedicated telephoto sensor with the Pixel 10, while downgrading the primary camera and using a 1/1.95-inch sensor to replace the Pixel 9’s 1/1.31-inch ISOCELL GNV primary camera. In contrast, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL will feature a single Samsung camera sensor, the 50MP ISOCELL GNV, as the primary rear-facing camera, while the remaining ultrawide, telephoto, and selfie cameras will reportedly use the 48MP Sony IMX858 camera sensor.
