The core of Claude for Education is a novel Learning mode, which modifies the interaction between Anthropic’s chatbot and users. Upon activation, Claude will strive to guide students towards a solution rather than providing a direct answer to their queries. Furthermore, it will employ the Socratic method, posing questions such as “What evidence supports your conclusion?” to facilitate user understanding. This functionality is powered by 3.7 Sonnet, Anthropic’s innovative hybrid reasoning model, and is closely tied to Claude’s Projects feature, which enables users to organize chats around specific topics.

Claude for Education is accessible to all Pro users with an .edu email address. Additionally, Anthropic has partnered with esteemed institutions such as Northeastern University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Champlain College to make Claude available to all students enrolled at these universities.

Simultaneously, the company is launching two new initiatives. The first, Claude Campus Ambassadors, provides students with the opportunity to collaborate directly with Anthropic in launching educational initiatives at their respective schools.
