Samsung is expected to launch the next-generation Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, which is likely to be powered by the Exynos 2600, as the chipset is confirmed to be back on track for next year.

A reputable tipster, Jukanlosreve, posted on X that Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 is back in development and will be used in the upcoming Galaxy S26, indicating that the company will not solely rely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip for its next-generation smartphones.

Notably, the tipster also mentioned that the Exynos 2600 chip production volume will be limited, suggesting that the Galaxy S26 series will again be split between Exynos and Snapdragon processors, unlike the Galaxy S25 series. According to the tipster, the Exynos 2600 will be in such short supply that it may lead to a similar situation as the Exynos 990, which was used in the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series.

Samsung had released the Exynos 990-powered Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 in select markets, such as European and Asian countries, while in key regions like the US and China, the smartphones were powered by the Snapdragon 895.

Samsung will utilize a 2nm process node for the Exynos 2600 chip, making it 15-25% more power-efficient than the 3nm technology. However, Samsung has yet to make an official statement regarding this report, so it remains to be seen how things will unfold.
