Following numerous delays and a significant overhaul, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is finally nearing its release. In a recent Nintendo Direct presentation, the company provided a more detailed look at the gameplay.
The newly released trailer showcases Samus exploring a dense jungle planet known as Viewros, where she has been unexpectedly transported. Throughout her journey, she will encounter hostile alien creatures and analyze ancient relics to uncover vital information that may aid in her escape. Additionally, Samus will acquire new psychic abilities, enabling her to manipulate doors, mechanisms, and the trajectory of her beam attacks. The origin of these newfound powers remains shrouded in mystery, but it is likely that the story will shed light on this aspect.
A specific release date has yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless, Nintendo has reconfirmed that the game is scheduled to launch on the Switch in 2025. Given the Switch 2’s backwards compatibility, it is probable that the game will also be playable on the new console.
