Google is on the verge of introducing a more streamlined version of Android Auto, with the company recently releasing a new version 14.0 for its users. A recent report has uncovered several new features in this latest version, potentially signaling a significant upgrade for the platform.

According to the Android Authority team, an in-depth examination of Android Auto 14.0 has revealed a new string code that hints at various climate control functions. This suggests that Google may be planning to introduce features such as the ability to turn the car’s AC on and off, as well as other advanced climate control options.

Upon decoding the climate control codes, it appears that Google may be considering implementing features like windshield defrosting, seat temperature and ventilation control, recirculation, side mirror and steering wheel heating, fan speed control, and more. Additionally, the sync mode may allow for synchronization of the driver’s and passenger’s temperatures, although the specifics of the auto mode are still unclear.

Previous updates to Android Auto have brought numerous significant changes and features, including the introduction of NACS charging standards for non-Tesla EVs, Type 6 and LECCS charging standards for EVs, and the Material You coloring theme, among others.

Given that climate control features were previously rumored to be coming to Android Auto, the introduction of these features in a future update could represent the most significant functionality upgrade to Google’s smart driving companion to date. If the aforementioned climate control feature is implemented, it would likely have a substantial impact on the user experience.
