This redesign aims to create a more consistent user experience across the company’s software, impacting various elements such as icons, menus, apps, windows, and system buttons.

The new design may draw inspiration from visionOS, the operating system used in the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset. The Vision Pro features a distinct style that differs from Apple’s other software, characterized by a focus on translucency, floating interface elements, and rounded app icons.

As noted by Bloomberg, Apple has not made significant changes to the design of its software since the introduction of iOS 7 and macOS Big Sur.
