I recently experienced a wave of regret when I noticed a random $50 Amazon charge on my credit card statement. It’s a familiar feeling that often accompanies the arrival of a long-forgotten pre-order. Upon reviewing my past purchases, I discovered that I had pre-ordered an Emperor Palpatine Star Wars Black Series figure back in May 2024. My initial hesitation was justified, given that most figures in the Black Series line typically cost around half that price. However, this particular figure is an Amazon exclusive deluxe edition, complete with the Emperor’s throne and several other accessories that bring the Sith Lord to life.

The figure’s packaging is quite impressive, and I was excited to open it up and explore its contents. Here’s a look at the box:

As I opened the package and began to set up the figure, my initial doubts started to fade away. The Emperor’s throne is a standout feature, and it looks fantastic. I had initially purchased this figure with the intention of displaying it alongside other Black Series figures, and now I couldn’t wait to see it all come together.
