According to the EO, agency heads will have the authority to \u201cpause and rapidly review\u201d any payment that lacks a justification from the approving employee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EO also mandates that agency heads, with the assistance of DOGE, develop systems to \u201ccentrally record\u201d approvals for federally funded travel related to conferences and other purposes deemed \u201cnon-essential\u201d. Once these systems are operational, agency employees will need to submit written justifications for their travel expenses related to conferences and \u201cnon-essential\u201d purposes, as outlined in the order.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This move represents the latest expansion of DOGE\u2019s broad powers to oversee federal spending activities.
