Ransomware detection remains a top priority within the cybersecurity industry due to the severe consequences of previous ransomware attacks and the complexities of maintaining robust endpoint defenses, according to the Karnataka-based startup.<\/p>\n

By integrating Intel TDT, Shepherd’s endpoint security software will offer superior protection against ransomware threats when used on Intel-based devices, said Anter Virk, CEO of Shepherd. Customers will benefit from the upgraded endpoint security solutions with ransomware detection capabilities that can defend against detection evasion tactics.<\/p>\n

The startup is targeting to raise $8-10 million in Series A by the end of FY25-26, which will be utilized to hire talent and enhance its product portfolio, Virk said in an emailed response to ETTelecom. Currently present in India and the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region, Shepherd aims to expand into the US and European markets next year.<\/p>\n

In the IT endpoints segment, Shepherd competes with mobile device management (MDM) products such as Ivanti and Airwatch, while in rugged devices, it competes with solutions such as SOTI and Hexnode<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We are partnering with Shepherd to bolster cybersecurity for enterprise customers. Shepherd, enhanced with Intel Threat Detection Technology<\/a>, will strengthen ransomware defenses when deployed on Intel Core Ultra AI PCs,” said Carla Rodriguez, VP and GM Intel Client Software Enabling.<\/p>\n

The advantages of this integration will be available later this year with the upcoming release of Shepherd’s updated endpoint security and management products.<\/p>\n
