Gwen Stacy’s Return from the Dead<\/h2>\n

As we learned last week<\/a>, writer Cavan Scott (Star Wars: The High Republic<\/em>) and artist Stefano Nesi are resurrecting Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker’s iconic love interest whose tragic demise has had a lasting impact on the comic book universe.<\/p>\n

However, the emotional scars from her initial death are about to take an unexpected turn as Stacy returns as a ruthless killing machine, armed with Deadpool’s Weapon X<\/a> abilities. The release of variant covers from Marvel has piqued our interest, and we’re eager to see the chaos this will unleash in the lives of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man and Gwendolyne Poole, the original Gwenpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This isn’t a straightforward character reboot, thanks to Gwenpool’s presence. The self-aware Deadpool variant will grapple with the consequences of her doppelganger’s return, while Gwendolyn Poole navigates the implications of the Gwenpool mantle being used in two places at once. Poole will also provide emotional support to Peter as he deals with Stacy’s resurrection. It’s going to be a wild ride, and we’re excited for the drama that’s about to unfold.<\/p>\n

Scott shared with Marvel<\/a>, “What an absolute honor! To tear both Gwenpool AND Spider-Man’s worlds apart? Yes please! Gwen Stacy is back from the grave and deadlier than ever. Weapon-X style abilities? Check. A line in killer put-downs? You’ve got it.”<\/p>\n

Scott continued to describe the bold storyline, raising many questions. “This is NOT the Gwen you remember. But just who is behind her miraculous resurrection? And what has happened to the original Gwenpool’s usually careful existence? Add Kate Bishop and Jeff the Land Shark to the mix, and you have the Marvel series of my dreams!”<\/p>\n

The Spider-Verse is constantly expanding, and this addition to the lore will allow fans to experience Gwen Stacy in a haunting new way. We’re curious to see if this is taking things too far, as Marvel often brings back characters from the dead, rehashing popular storylines with different outcomes.
