The Washington Post reported Friday that the highest-ranking career official at Treasury is leaving the department after \u201ca clash\u201d with people working for Musk\u2019s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) over \u201caccess to sensitive payment systems,\u201d citing three unnamed sources.<\/p>\n

The DOGE officials have been asking for access to the system \u2014 which controls the flow of more than $6 trillion annually to programs like Social Security and Medicare \u2014 since after the election in November.
