In case you missed it, Tesla<\/strong> CEO Elon Musk <\/strong>announced that the company will launch a paid ride-hailing service with a fleet of driverless vehicles<\/a> in Austin in June. This service is set to launch in approximately five months. Musk made this announcement during Tesla\u2019s fourth-quarter and full-year earnings<\/a> call. <\/p>\n

Musk provided almost no details about this upcoming service, including its geo-fence (environmental, geographic, and operational constraints) at launch. However, it’s possible that this lack of information is intentional, aiming to generate excitement and divert attention from Tesla’s relatively flat automotive business. <\/p>\n

In-car tech<\/h3>\n

Apple<\/strong> has acknowledged that next-gen CarPlay is running behind schedule<\/a>, but assures that it is still in development.<\/p>\n

Amazon<\/strong> is expanding its drone delivery service<\/a> to the U.K., starting with the north England town of Darlington.<\/p>\n

Boom Supersonic<\/strong> successfully completed a supersonic flight<\/a> with its XB-1 demonstrator plane, clearing Mach 1 and staying supersonic for approximately four minutes in the skies above California’s Mojave Desert.<\/p>\n
