The apps are currently available for preorder, allowing users to reserve their copy before the official release.

NotebookLM, which was initially introduced in 2023, has been accessible solely through desktop until now. Google is now expanding the service to mobile devices, enabling users to access its features on-the-go. This AI-based note-taking and research assistant aims to simplify complex information through smart summaries and the ability to ask questions about various materials.

The research assistant offers a range of features, including the generation of AI-powered podcasts, known as Audio Overviews, which facilitate easier comprehension of complex topics. These features are designed to cater to the needs of students, professionals, and researchers, helping them better understand and engage with complex information.

Based on the screenshots provided in the app listings, the dedicated mobile apps will enable users to create new notebooks, access existing ones, upload new sources from their devices, and view previously uploaded materials within each notebook.
