If you’re worried about the impact of new US tariffs on future electronics purchases, look no further than DJI. The company has raised the price of its popular Osmo Pocket 3 camera to $799, which is $280 (54 percent) more than its launch price. The Pocket 3 Creator Combo, which includes a wireless Mic 2 and other accessories, also increased in price from $700 to $950. The recent tariffs imposed by President Trump on Chinese products were "certainly among the key considerations" for the price increase, according to DJI, as reported by The Verge.

The Osmo Pocket 3 was an instant success due to its built-in gimbal, motorized subject tracking, and large 1-inch sensor, which delivers excellent video quality even in low light conditions. The camera is widely used by content creators and is recommended in several of Engadget’s camera buying guides. In fact, Engadget purchased some for its own reporters. The camera’s popularity can be attributed to its strong feature set and original price of $520, which was a bargain compared to standard compact cameras like Canon’s $899 PowerShot V1.

While DJI attributes the price increase to various factors, it’s likely that the new tariffs are the primary reason. The price of the Osmo Pocket 3 remains the same in Europe and Canada, suggesting that there are no other technical reasons for the price increase. DJI had previously raised the US price from $520 to $620 a couple of months ago, around the time President Trump announced potential tariffs on Chinese products. However, other DJI products, such as drones, have not seen a price increase yet.

The Osmo Pocket 3 is currently difficult to find in the US and elsewhere, but DJI is working to keep up with demand. The company is also facing a full ban of its drone products in the US in 2026 unless it obtains an exemption from regulators. This ban will not only affect the company but also consumers, as DJI’s drones are widely used in production, emergency services, and other industries. DJI has sent a formal letter to five national security agencies requesting that they evaluate its products immediately.

You can find the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 available for purchase at B&H Photo Video for $799.

Introduction to the Price Hike If you’re worried about the impact of new US tariffs on future electronics purchases, look no further than DJI.
