At the end of last year, Intel had around 108,900 employees, following the announcement of <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/08\/01\/intel-to-lay-off-15000-employees\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">15,000 job cuts in August 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Intel has been facing significant challenges for an extended period; its stock has declined by approximately 67% over the past five years. Since taking over as CEO in late 2024, Tan has been working to spin off non-core divisions of Intel into separate <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/04\/01\/lip-bu-tan-says-intel-will-spin-off-non-core-units\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">units<\/a>.
