Arrest Made in Connection with Tesla Vehicle Fires<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police held a press conference<\/a> on Thursday to announce the arrest of 36-year-old Paul Kim in connection with the vehicle fires at a Tesla Collision Center on March 18, 2025. According to authorities, Kim allegedly set fire to multiple Tesla vehicles, discharged a firearm, and spray-painted "resist" on the building. He has been charged with both state and federal crimes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Surveillance Video and Investigation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Police allege that Kim was the person seen in surveillance video on March 18, 2025, arriving in a black Hyundai Elantra, parking just east of the building, and continuing on foot. Kim then allegedly shot the surveillance cameras with a rifle before turning the gun on some vehicles and using molotov cocktails on the cars.<\/p>\n

State and Federal Charges<\/strong><\/h2>\n

At the state level, Kim has been charged with:<\/p>\n

  • 3 Counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosive or Incendiary Device<\/li>\n
  • 4 Counts of Destroy\/Injure Real\/Personal Property of Another $5000+<\/li>\n
  • 5 Counts of Discharge Firearm at or into a Vehicle or Structure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Kim has also been charged federally in the U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada, with one count of unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm, which carries a potential sentence of 10 years in prison, and one count of arson, which can carry a sentence of 5-20 years.<\/p>\n

    Statement from Attorney General Pamela Bondi<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    "The Department of Justice has been clear: anyone who participates in the wave of domestic terrorism targeting Tesla properties will suffer severe legal consequences," Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a statement<\/a> published online. "We will continue to find, arrest, and prosecute these attackers until the lesson is learned."<\/p>\n
