This bug exhibits a similar pattern to a vulnerability that <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/03\/26\/google-fixes-chrome-zero-day-security-flaw-used-in-hacking-campaign-targeting-journalists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Google recently patched in its Chrome browser<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vulnerability allows an attacker to bypass Firefox&#8217;s sandbox, which restricts the browser&#8217;s access to other applications and data on the user&#8217;s computer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This bug also affects other browsers that share the same codebase as Firefox for Windows, including the Tor Browser, which has also <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.torproject.org\/new-release-tor-browser-1408\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">received a patch updating the browser to version 14.0.7<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boris Larin, a researcher at Kaspersky, who initially discovered the Chrome zero-day vulnerability, <a href=\"https:\/\/mastodon.social\/@oct0xor\/114239517678209989\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">confirmed in a post<\/a> that the underlying cause of the Chrome bug also impacts Firefox.
