{"id":12253,"date":"2025-03-28T12:19:20","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T12:19:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fusionmindlabs.com\/blogs\/new-ai-education-initiatives-from-google\/"},"modified":"2025-03-28T12:19:20","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T12:19:20","slug":"new-ai-education-initiatives-from-google","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fusionmindlabs.com\/blogs\/new-ai-education-initiatives-from-google\/","title":{"rendered":"New AI Education Initiatives from Google"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<\/p>\n<h1>Introduction to AI Literacy Day<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p data-block-key=\"cjoou\">In recognition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ailiteracyday.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National AI Literacy Day<\/a>, we are excited to share the latest initiatives aimed at empowering parents, educators, and students with the skills and resources necessary to utilize AI in a safe and effective manner.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-block-key=\"2eo53\"><b>AI Training for Educators and Guardians:<\/b> We have developed two new courses for educators in <a href=\"https:\/\/skillshop.exceedlms.com\/student\/path\/1178011-get-started-with-gemini-for-google-workspace?sid=5b01b95c-2818-418f-b52d-30c16bd1ca22&amp;sid_i=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">K12<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/skillshop.exceedlms.com\/student\/path\/1470990-get-started-with-google-ai-in-higher-education\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">higher education<\/a> that focus on leveraging Google AI to save time, create engaging learning experiences, and foster innovative ideas. These courses complement our existing resources, including the Grow with Google <a href=\"https:\/\/grow.google\/ai-for-educators\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Generative AI for Educators course<\/a> created in partnership with MIT RAISE, the updated <a href=\"https:\/\/services.google.com\/fh\/files\/misc\/guardians_guide_to_ai_in_education.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Guardian\u2019s Guide to AI<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/experience-ai.org\/en\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Experience AI program<\/a> for educators and students.<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"9ahlf\"><b>Resources for Navigating AI:<\/b> A new <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gle\/teachresponsibleAIblog\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lesson plan<\/a> is available to support teachers in educating their students on responsible AI use. Grounded in our <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8BNo1sM7wFw?feature=shared\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">five essentials for getting started with AI<\/a>, this curriculum incorporates real-world scenarios and practical tips. For families, we have created a <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gle\/familyaiguide\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">conversation guide<\/a> to facilitate exploration of AI together. These resources are valuable additions to programs like <a href=\"http:\/\/g.co\/beinternetawesome\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Be Internet Awesome<\/a> and the Online Safety Roadshow, which have helped millions of children learn to safely and confidently navigate the online world.<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"s7mk\"><b>Expanding Gemini Access with Supervision Tools:<\/b> Following feedback from parents, teachers, and child development experts on the potential of AI as a learning and creativity tool with proper supervision, we are expanding Gemini to younger users. Parents will be able to manage their child\u2019s access to Gemini through the Family Link app on supervised accounts. School administrators can manage access to Gemini in the Google Admin console, now as <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/outreach-initiatives\/education\/gemini-enterprise-grade-data-protection\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a core service<\/a>, soon to include younger students\u2019 accounts.<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"41rub\"><b>Guidance on AI-Generated Content:<\/b> A video is available that instructs viewers on identifying and interpreting labels required by YouTube for content that has been significantly altered or synthetically generated using generative AI, found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_X21SnjLO68\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this link<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"7cjmo\"><b>Funding for AI Skills Expansion:<\/b> Google.org has allocated $1 million to the <a href=\"https:\/\/raise.mit.edu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MIT RAISE Initiative<\/a> to advance AI education and computational skills. This effort builds on Google\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/grow.google\/ai-for-educators\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Generative AI for Educators course<\/a> with MIT RAISE, bringing Google.org\u2019s total AI literacy funding to over $40 million, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/outreach-initiatives\/google-org\/google-ai-initiatives-funding-educators-students\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI Opportunity Fund<\/a> for educators and students.
