Therefore, it was exciting to receive an update on the game as part of Sony&#8217;s annual PS Indie Day. The striking skateboarding adventure has been confirmed for release on PS5 and PC, with publisher Devolver Digital planning to launch it later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Solo developer Sam Eng describes <em>Skate Story<\/em> as &#8220;a game about a demon made of glass who must skate through the Underworld and consume The Moon to fulfill the devil&#8217;s contract.&#8221; To accomplish this, players will need to navigate nine layers of hell. The only way to defeat bosses is by skating at high speeds and performing a variety of impressive tricks, which also deal damage. A time limit is imposed on the boss battle against the Moon, as showcased in the latest trailer &#8211; players have only until the end of the song to emerge victorious.<\/p>\n<p>With over 70 tricks to master and improve upon, players will be able to level up by completing skate trials. Other characters that can be encountered include a &#8220;pillowy demon who owns a laundromat&#8221; and a &#8220;jittery subway train&#8221; that can become a friend, allowing players to &#8220;experience poetry about the multilight of the Moon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite the unusual premise, everything I&#8217;ve seen and heard about <em>Skate Story<\/em> has resonated with me. The visuals, in particular, have left a lasting impression.<\/p>\n<p>Eng has promised to reveal more details about <em>Skate Story<\/em> this summer. Given Devolver&#8217;s tradition of hosting a showcase alongside Summer Game Fest, it&#8217;s likely that more information will be shared in early June.
