Daredevil’s Future on the Big Screen
Since 2015, the character of Daredevil has been a dominant force on the small screen, thanks to his two shows on Netflix and Disney+. Fans have kept the character alive on TV for the past decade, and actor Charlie Cox believes that the same passion could lead to a Daredevil movie.
In a recent interview at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox stated that he is the “worst person to ask” about the chances of a Daredevil movie, as he is not aware of any plans. He suggested that fans should direct their questions and demands to “the grown-ups,” aka Disney and Marvel. Cox urged fans to “write letters” to express their interest in a Daredevil movie. He also shared that the show’s cast and crew had the opportunity to watch the first two episodes of every season in theaters, an experience he thinks the show "deserves" to have a wider audience.
While Cox may not have any inside information, fans believe that now is the perfect time to bring Daredevil to the big screen. With the recent reintroduction of Jennifer Garner’s Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars movies, which are expected to feature the old X-Men, the possibilities are endless. Additionally, Cox has already reprised his role as Daredevil in the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and is set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026.
Wherever Daredevil shows up next, outside of his own show returning in 2026, Cox is excited to continue telling Matt’s story and remains “so thrilled to be here.” If the fan response is any indication, they are ready to follow him wherever he goes.
